Steve Healey

Co-Founder, Co-President, Golf Outing Co-Chair

Membership & Research Ambassador to the DIPG/DMG Collaborative

Steve is Brooke's father and co-founded The Brooke Healey Foundation with his wife, Stefani. He is also the father of Ashton, Bryn and Seamus. Steve was named  Membership and Research Ambassador to the DIPG/DMG Collaborative in 2018. 

 

He is a graduate of New Providence High School and Rutgers University and teaches mathematics at Madison High School. Steve gave up his high school coaching career to be more involved with his children’s athletic interests. 

 

Steve is also a licensed real estate agent with RE/MAX ACHIEVERS with offices in Summit, Chatham, and Avon by the Sea and the owner of Brookeside Construction LLC.

Stefani Healey

Co-Founder, Co-President

Stefani is Brooke’s mother and co-founded The Brooke Healey Foundation with her husband, Steve. She is also the mother of Ashton, Bryn and Seamus.

 

She is a graduate of New Providence High School and Rutgers University and co-owns and works at Elefante Music for over 20 years with her father and sister. After Brooke’s diagnosis, she took a hiatus and stayed at home to be with Brooke and her family full time. She is a board member of the Harding Township Education Foundation where her kids attend school and, through Beautycounter, advocates to get safer beauty products to the market.

 

Stefani is dedicated to growing The Brooke Healey Foundation to honor her daughter’s memory, help families going through similar struggles and keep working towards a cure.

Sandy Castle

 Secretary, September Awareness Co-Chair

Sandy grew up in New Providence and now resides in Califon.  Long-time friends with Steve and Stefani and their families, Sandy loves their times together. 

She has worked at Chubb Insurance for over 32 years and is currently a Production Support Technical Lead in the Personal Risk Services division. She's also passionate about dog rescue and is past vice president of German Shorthaired Pointer Rescue of NJ where she remains a volunteer.  Sandy also enjoys traveling and frequent visits to LBI and Portland ME with her husband Sean.

Abby Rosen

Treasurer

Abby serves the CI Regent Atlantic firm as Partner & Wealth Advisor.  She is a Certified Financial Planner professional with over ten years of experience in the financial industry. Prior to her career in finance, Abby was an officer in the United States Navy.  She graduated with a Bachelors of Arts from the College of the Holy Cross, and received a Master of Science in Financial Planning from Bentley University. She is the Treasurer of the New Jersey Psychological Association Foundation and Treasurer of the Harding Township Educational Foundation.

 

Not only has Abby been a financial supporter of The Brooke Healey Foundation for many years, she also volunteers each year at the  Foundation's annual golf outing. In 2020 she dedicated her marathon run for the Marine Corps Marathon to The Brooke Healey Foundation.  Abby lives in Harding with her husband Steve and two children.

Michele Elefante

Co-Vice President, Family Assistance Coordinator

Michele is Brooke's aunt and a co-owner of Elefante Music & School for the Performing Arts in New Providence, where she grew up and continues to reside with her daughters Rose and Zita.  She graduated from Rutgers University with a BS in Management. 

 

Michele is honored to be a member of the Brooke Healey Foundation.

Toni Anthony

Co-Vice President, Casino Night Co-Chair, Golf Outing Co-Chair

Toni, a fellow New Providence High School alum, is a lifelong friend of Michele Stivalo, Brooke’s aunt. Growing up, Toni knew Steve as her neighbor and Stefani, as well. 

 

She has been involved with childhood cancer research and fundraising since her days at Penn State University where she danced in THON and volunteered all four years while attending college.

 

Toni has been in education and the mental health field for almost 20 years and is a student assistance counselor at a local high school, as well as a licensed professional counselor.  She loves working with kids and walking with people on their life paths.

 

Toni lives in Stirling, NJ with her husband Rob, who also serves the foundation, and her three children, Michael, Paige and Quinn.

Sean Castle

Board Member

Sean grew up in New Providence and now resides in Califon.  He is a childhood friend of Steve and has been close with Stefani for many years.  He is also godfather to Seamus Healey. 

 

Sean is a local builder with many years of carpentry experience and is the owner of SC Carpentry, LLC.  He enjoys riding his motorcycle, traveling, fishing and is active with German Shorthaired Pointer Rescue of NJ along with his wife Sandy.

Maria Deluca

Board Member, Sunshine Committee Chair

Maria lives in New Providence with her husband Michael and their three children: Gabriel, Isabella and  Julian. Maria's younger children attended elementary school with Brooke's siblings, Ashton and Bryn. Through their children's' friendships, Maria got to know Steve and Stefani.

After witnessing Brooke's battle with DIPG, Maria knew she had to get involved to help give kids a fighting chance. After witnessing Brooke's battle with DIPG, Maria knew she had to get involved fighting for a cure. Maria teaches fabric arts and culinary arts at New Providence High School and has been a Girl Scout leader for over 11 years. She was formerly the Girl Scout Service Unit Manager for all of New Providence. Maria is also a trustee of the New Providence Historical Society, and High School PTSA Vice President.

Jill Driscoll

Board Member, Junior Council Chair

Jill grew up in New Providence and has known the Elefante family for over 35 years. She became involved with the foundation when Brooke was first diagnosed and has been volunteering since. She believes she will continue to fight for a cure until nobody she loves is affected by cancer any more.

She graduated from New Providence High School and followed her dream to become a teacher, receiving a BA and Masters in Education. She has been teaching at The Pingry School for 20 years.

Jill enjoys spending time with her husband, Sean and her two children. Jack and Samantha.

Marc Hamel

Board Member

Marc is the President of The Palace at Somerset Park. He’s been involved in the fight against pediatric cancer for more than 10 years.  

 

Some years back Marc met Steve Healey through a mutual friend at a golf outing. He noticed “Brooke’s” name on Steve’s arm and has been helping The Brooke Healey Foundation since that time.  Marc grew up in Massachusetts, graduated from Johnson & Wales University and lives in Chatham, NJ with his wife, Johanna, and daughter, Mary.

Sal Pignio

Board Member

Sal is the Regional Senior Director, Operations & Owner Services for the Eastern Region Marriott Select Brands hotels with more than 30 years of hospitality experience with Marriott.  He is actively involved in the community, highlighted by his leadership as past Chair and participation in the New York and New Jersey Business Councils.  

 

Over the past 15 years, he has chaired their New York and New Jersey Charity Golf Classic that benefits the Children’s Miracle Network.  Sal was recognized in 2014 and 2017 by the Children’s Specialized Hospitals and the Children’s Miracle Network with the Miracle Leadership Award.

 

Sal grew up in New Providence and is a dear friend of the Healey Family.  Since the inception, Sal has supported The Brooke Healey Foundation both personally and professionally.  Sal enjoys spending time with his wife, Jeannie, watching his son play college football and getting out with friends for a round of golf.

Alissa Rust

Board Member

Alissa grew up in and resides in New Providence with her husband, Casey and children Corey, Ryan and Ava. She has known the Elefante family for over 30 years and has been involved with fundraising for Brooke and DIPG since Brooke’s diagnosis.

 

Alissa is a kindergarten teacher at The Pingry School. She enjoys spending time with her family and is devoted to finding a cure for cancer after watching her mother, Brooke and too many others succumb to the disease.

Al Elefante

Al is Brooke's grandfather and resides in New Providence with his wife Betty Ann. He is also the grandfather of Ashton, Bryn and Seamus Healey, Rose and Zita Stivalo and Cate Elefante.

 

He is a professional musician and owner of Elefante Music & School for the Performing Arts in New Providence along with his two daughters, Stefani and Michele. He is on the Board of Directors of the New Providence Business and Professional Association, is the committee chairman for the Summer Concert in the Parks series at Centennial Park and serves on the New Providence Economic Development Committee, a committee appointed by the mayor.

Barbie Niehoff

Barbie is a long-time friend of the Healey Family.  She grew up in New Providence and attended Allen W. Roberts and New Providence High School with Stefani. She is married to Greg  and  is mother to Ryder and Grayson.  Barbie works as a talent acquisition consultant. 

 

Brooke’s diagnosis and subsequent battle had a profound impact on her and led her to devote her time to raising awareness of pediatric cancer and DIPG through the Brooke Healey Foundation.

Paula Vieira

Paula is a life-long resident of New Providence and friend of the Healey family.  She has been in education with the New Providence School District for over 20 years and is an active participant in several local organizations and events.  


Paula is mother to Marcelo, Luciana, and Grace Lourdes.  She is proud to serve The Brooke Healey Foundation and honor Brooke’s memory by providing support for those in need.
