NEW PROVIDENCE HIGH SCHOOL

Karalyn McNight

Karalyn McNight will be attending The University of Scranton in the fall. She is an active member of the Community Service Association of New Providence, where she helps coordinate fundraising, membership and events. She  is a member of the Corpus Christi Youth Group, where she has volunteered at the Children’s Specialized Hospital in Mountainside. Most of her time there was spent comforting the sick children during their stay.
 
She has also worked with the Renaissance Church Youth Group helping with such things as aiding victims of Superstorm Sandy to get back on their feet. This included providing food and clothes as well as cleaning water-logged debris from their homes.

Rose Flanagan

Rose Flanagan will be attending University of Scranton in the fall. She has aspirations of pursuing a career in nursing. She is motivated to enter this field from her experiences volunteering at Overlook Hospital, New Providence EMS Squad and Habitat for Humanity, for which she traveled to West Virginia and Akron, OH as a student leader. She's also a 1st grade CCD teacher and confirmation retreat team leader. 

MADISON HIGH SCHOOL

Mackaella Goodwin

Mackaella Goodwin will be attending Lycoming College in the fall. She is inspired to volunteer for children by her sister whom is affected by Down Syndrome. She has realized how important it can be to help others through the gift of sign language. Other acts of volunteerism include the Special Olympics and Arc of Morris. She is also involved in sports both as a player and a referee, and has been on both the Honor Roll and High Honor Roll at Madison High School.

Ariel Riveros

Ariel Riveros is enrolled at Seton Hall for the fall of 2016. She has been volunteering at Overlook Medical Center and plans to pursue a career as a doctor. She has volunteered with students by preparing them for everyday life situations as well as challenges they may encounter. She has been a retreat leader at St. Vincent’s Youth Ministry and has helped volunteer during Hurricane Sandy.
